Helmets and visors offer valuable head, face, and eye protection. Imagine the damage or injury a bird, or a drone (UAS) would do if one penetrated the aircraft windscreen and struck the pilot in the face. A helmet is a relatively inexpensive piece of personal protective equipment with a tremendous amount of value.
